This series of meetings is being run in conjunction with the Molecular Genetics Society of Australasia (MGSA), a special interest group of the HGSA, and brings together all those interested in Mutation Detection methods and their application in Biology, Medicine and Agriculture. It is a forum where developers of methodology can exchange ideas, and those responsible for diagnostics can compare results with specific methods. Those in agriculture, microbiology and non-medical fields are encouraged to attend. It is the only meeting where all diagnostic laboratories in Australasia are represented. AbstractsThe organising committee welcomes applications from anyone with an active research interest in mutation detection, but in order to achieve maximum interaction and discussion, the number of registrants is limited to 100. Registration and abstracts need to be sent as indicated not later than 15th April 2008. Abstracts submitted after this deadline will NOT be considered for oral presentation and are not guaranteed a poster board. Abstracts will be considered only if sent with the registration fee. All abstracts will be peer reviewed by the Scientific Committee and authors will be notified of acceptance by 15th May 2008. Authors will be notified if they are presenting an oral or poster presentation on this date. All accepted abstracts will be published in the meeting programme book. Abstracts from people who have not registered will NOT be published in the programme book. If an abstract or registration is not accepted the registration fee will be fully refunded. Some authors will also be invited to make oral presentations of their work. Abstracts must be submitted as indicated via e-mail, no fax or printed copies will be eligible.
